These terms govern your use of i8 (the "App"), provided by ArrowStone OÜ, registry code 16154633, Telliskivi tn 57, Põhja-Tallinna linnaosa, 10412 Tallinn, Harju maakond, Estonia, contact khrystyna.didukh@gmail.com. By creating an account you accept them. If you get the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies; if the two conflict, these terms prevail to the extent permitted. The app is distributed on the Apple App Store by Lumos Strategies OÜ (registry code 17138613, Estonia) under licence from ArrowStone OÜ, which operates the service.
The App helps you log food, calories, macronutrients, weight and supplements by text, voice, photos and barcodes, and gives AI-assisted estimates.
The App is for general wellness information only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional or dietetic advice, diagnosis or treatment. Consult a doctor or qualified professional before changing your diet or weight.
Do not use the App if you have or may have an eating disorder, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or follow a medically prescribed diet, unless your doctor agrees.
You set your own goals (target weight, pace and daily calories) and you are responsible for them. i8 may show a warning when a goal looks risky, but these warnings are general information, not medical or dietetic advice. We recommend talking to a doctor before changing your weight or diet, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if food or weight feels hard for you.
Calorie, nutrient and portion values produced by AI, barcode databases or calculations are estimates and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Check important values yourself.
You must be at least 16. Give accurate information, keep your credentials secure and tell us about unauthorised use. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account.
Full access requires an annual subscription purchased through Apple In-App Purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The price is shown before you buy.
The subscription renews automatically for another year at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the App or your account does not cancel it.
Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies (reportaproblem.apple.com). Your statutory rights as an EU consumer are not affected.
Free trial: new subscribers may get a 7-day free trial through Apple’s introductory offer (once per Apple ID, as decided by Apple). The trial includes 50 AI credits. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), the annual subscription starts automatically and your Apple ID is charged the annual price shown before purchase.
Subscriptions are only sold through the iPhone app. If you have an active subscription, you may also use it outside the iPhone app with the same account.
You can invite friends with your personal invite code. A friend can enter the code during setup or later in Profile, as long as the account has no previous invite code and no previous paid charge in i8. Friends get the usual free trial offered by Apple, if eligible.
The invited friend and you each receive AI credits equal to one month of the allowance of the App Store price tier of the friend's country, taken from the friend's subscription purchase (the App Store country of that purchase); if that country has no price tier of its own or is unknown, the international tier applies, once, at the friend's first paid subscription charge — not at sign-up, not when a free trial starts and not for credit-pack purchases. One person can receive at most 20 referral rewards per calendar month. If that subscription charge is refunded within 14 days, both rewards are removed (the balance never goes below zero). Credits are added to the top-up balance, do not expire and have no cash value.
We may change or end the referral program at any time. Rewards already granted stay in your balance. If we detect abuse — such as self-referrals, fake or duplicate accounts, or spam — no reward is granted and we may remove credits obtained this way.
Product check shows an i8 score — our own automated opinion calculated with a fixed, published formula (explained under "How is this calculated?") — and, separately, recognised public methods: the official Nutri-Score algorithm (or the grade published by Open Food Facts), nutrient levels for fat, saturated fat, sugars and salt based on the EU nutrition-claim conditions (Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006, Annex) and the EU Reference Intakes (Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex XIII), % Reference Intake per serving, the NOVA group from Open Food Facts, and the EU/EFSA status of additives. The i8 score is not an official rating. i8 does not recommend alternative products. Results are an automated presentation of the label data available — from Open Food Facts or from photos taken by the user — and not a statement of fact about a product's safety or quality.
The i8 score combines two sub-scores from 0 to 100: "Additives & processing" (60%: EU/EFSA status of additives, intense sweeteners, nitrites/nitrates, hydrogenated fat, palm oil and the NOVA group) and "Nutrition" (40%: sugars, salt, saturated fat, energy, fibre and protein). The Nutri-Score is shown separately and is not part of the i8 score.
i8 is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any manufacturer. Product and brand names are shown only to identify the product; all trademarks belong to their respective owners. Nutri-Score letters are shown in our own design; Nutri-Score is a registered trademark of Santé publique France.
Label data can be incomplete, outdated or misread, and we do not guarantee its accuracy. Users and manufacturers can send corrections and requests by email to khrystyna.didukh@gmail.com; we review them within a reasonable time.
Label reading and product recognition from photos are done by AI and can be wrong. Nutri-Score and nutrient levels are then calculated by fixed official rules from that data. Always check the label.

AI features use credits. Current costs: text or voice entry 1, correction 1, "how much more can I eat" 1, nutrition-label or simple photo 2, leftovers or complex photo 7, Open Food Facts barcode lookup 1. Quick-add from your own products, re-scanning your own products and manual editing are free. Costs may change; the current cost is shown in the App. One credit covers at most USD 0.01 of AI processing cost: if a single request costs more (for example a very long entry or a complex photo), it uses correspondingly more credits, rounded up. Your balance can reach zero this way, but a request already started is always completed. AI goal calculation — 1 credit; each additional photo in a product check — 1 credit.
Product check costs: barcode product check 1 credit, label-photo product check 2. Requests with several photos (up to 4) follow the same cost-cap rule: one credit covers at most USD 0.01 of AI processing cost. You can also earn credits by inviting friends — see the "Referral program" section.
The subscription includes a monthly allowance (currently 110 credits; 100 in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Bulgaria; 90 in Hungary; 75 in Ukraine and Georgia), renewed on the monthly anniversary of the subscription. Unused monthly credits do not roll over.
Credit packs are one-time, non-refundable (except as required by law or Apple) In-App Purchases. Pack credits are used only after the monthly allowance, do not expire, and stay usable even if your subscription ends. They are lost if you delete your account. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
Do not misuse the App: no unlawful content, no attempts to break security, reverse engineer, overload or scrape the service, no automated or resale use, and no uploading content you have no right to share.
We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these terms.
You keep rights to what you enter. You let us process it only to provide the App, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We provide the App with reasonable care, but cannot guarantee it is error-free or always available. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on estimates.
Nothing limits liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing affects your mandatory EU consumer rights.
We may change these terms for valid reasons (such as legal or feature changes). We will announce material changes in the App in advance; continuing to use the App means you accept them. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
Estonian law applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring claims there.
